Acupuncture for Arthritis
There are two main types of arthritis responsible for joint pain. Osteoarthritis is the most common and does not have a systemic effect on the body. It is located in the joints themselves and worsens with age. Rheumatoid arthritis has systemic effects and can lead to other symptoms including fatigue, digestive issues, sleep problems, musculoskeletal pain. Acupuncture has been shown to decrease inflammation both locally and systemically. It has immune boosting effects which are especially effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis which is an autoimmune disease.
